Do you play live? open mics, parties, concerts, street corners, any place we get a chance to rhyme, its on.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry? There is no doubt that the internet and mp3 format has changed the music industry in a big way. We feel that this change is a positive one for artists like us and many others. Never before has it been easier to get your music to the masses. A few years ago you needed a record label, promoters, managers, producers, and a huge budget just to get your music to a few ears. Now all you need is a PC and an internet connection and you can be your own producer/promoter/artist/manager, with just the cost of your time. I feel that what we are a part of now is the future of music. Downloads and streaming plays will soon replace CD sales and radio airplay as Sound Scans basis for the Billboard charts. We at Enlightened Entertainment are thankful and grateful that the internet music revolution has made it possible for artists/producers like ourselves to reach the masses, and we look forward to being a big part of the future of internet music.
Would you still sign a record contract with a major label? Maybe. Enlightened Ent. is a record label and it allows us to do whatever we want creatively as artits. What we really want is major label distribution, ie. a major company (Universral, Sony, etc.) to sell our music for us on a large scale.
Band History: Started out repeating Bone thugs lyrics at parties. Then we got messed with a karaoke machine and beer for a while, rapping over the B side to a Roots single. We then graduated to our friends basement and started trying to make beats. Hence, the birth of UnderG, our first group consisting of Bastard B, Dolo, and Skip. We then went to a local studio and we realized we could make a better recording than they could. After a brief hiatus we moved to Seattle to start something with our music. Bastard B and Dolo were studying at the Art Institute of Seattle for audio production. These were rocky times and ultimately lead to the breakup of UnderG and the start of Enlightened Ent. After a few months Skip moved back to AZ to finish college. During This time we, Skip and Bastard B, have been at work building the foundation for Enlightened Ent. Keep your eyes peeled folks, you will be seeing us again....
